Does big hands equal less adept at guitar?

I'm a bigger dude with bigger than avg hands; wouldn't let this stop me from learning, but am I going to have a harder time than someone w smaller hands and fingers and probably greater dexterity? (it seems that so many guitar virtuosoes are small guys) any advice on a beginner's accoustic guitar for someone with not enormous but bigger than avg hands? thanks!
