How to wire a DVD player into the dome light of our chevy venture van?

We just got a DVD player that mounts to the center dome light in our 04' Chevy Venture, the only problem is that we aren't sure which wires go to which wires. The instructions don't tell us and we can't find any diagrams for the wiring in the venture. Do the red, yellow, and black wires on the DVD player go to the purple, gry and black wires in the dome light or what? What color goes to what color?
